We’ve explored the key drivers of Australia’s variable and changing climate, and have used and improved our national climate model (ACCESS) to better understand these drivers and how our climate may change into the future.
In this webinar, ESCC Hub researchers Dr Michael Grose and Sugata Narsey will summarise and highlight the Hub’s analysis and studies of the CMIP6 climate model simulations just released, with a focus on climate projections for Australia.
Realistically simulating rainfall, especially tropical rainfall, remains a significant challenge for national and international researchers when developing climate models. Earth Systems and Climate Change Hub researchers now have an improved understanding of how convection schemes within ACCESS work to improve the skill of our climate models in simulating tropical rainfall.
