Federal and state government departments and agencies, local government
Healthcare, education, infrastructure, economic and environmental planning and policy decisions made by all levels of government have impacts that can extend decades (and beyond) into the future. Governments need as much information as possible to inform these decisions and to ensure the best possible outcomes for the community and the best use of resources. In a changing climate this includes information about the current and future climate, both nationally and regionally.
Federal, state and local governments will benefit from the ESCC Hub through access to science-based evidence to inform policy making, planning and associated decision making. The Hub can provide expert advice and briefings as well as customised communication products and services, which can be used in decision-support tools.
The Hub will also support the maintenance and development of our national climate science capability. This is in the long-term interests of all Australian stakeholders to address current and future information needs around best practice climate adaptation and mitigation response.
